While many in the streaming community called Twitch’s updated exclusivity clause for partners and affiliates a win, YouTube streamer Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm wasn’t too impressed.

Dr Disrespect was permanently banned from Twitch for undisclosed reasons that The Two Time clearly doesn’t agree with. Possibly still salty about the entire situation, Dr Disrespect has recently lashed out at Twitch over its update on partnered and affiliated streamers. The platform will now allow streamers to simulcast to TikTok and Instagram while streaming on Twitch, and will even allow them to stream on YouTube, though not simultaneously.

Why can’t streamers simulcast to Twitch and YouTube?

“We believe engaging with two streams at once can lead to a sub-optimal experience for your community,” the email said.

Dr Disrespect appeared to take issue with this sentiment, believing that Twitch was just making excuses to justify its policy. On Twitter, Dr Disrespect took a shot at Twitch by announcing a simulcast.

“Gonna see if I can ignore chat on both platforms,” Doc said sarcastically.

While many joked that nobody uses Facebook Gaming anymore, others pointed out that Dr Disrespect has a pretty big following on the platform. His fan page on Facebook has over 400,000 followers, prompting some to urge Dr Disrespect to utilize Facebook more often.

The simulcast was originally set to take place on August 24. But Dr Disrespect has decided to postpone it until Friday. According to The Two-Time, he wants the simulcast to be “radical.”

Fans will be waiting to see if the quality of his stream or chat is impacted by the concept of streaming on two platforms at once.

Why was Dr Disrespect banned from Twitch?

Dr Disrespect was allegedly left in the dark about his Twitch ban for the longest time despite the seriousness of the punishment. Later on, Dr Disrespect revealed that Twitch had finally told him the reason, but that he wasn’t ready to share just yet.

“I do know the reason why now,” the Doc admitted at the time. “I’ve known for months now.”

Dr Disrepsect expressed that the reason was not justified, saying there’s a reason his team is “suing the f—” out of Twitch. Later on, the legal dispute was settled. But Dr Disrespect still didn’t return to the platform where he once hosted as many as 500,000 concurrent viewers.
