Missy is easily Cooper’s family’s quirkiest character, at least in Young Sheldon. But, her character takes a dramatic turn in The Big Bang Theory. Here’s who plays Missy in The Bang Theory and what happens to her.

Sheldon has two siblings: George Junior and Missy, short for Melissa. While both of his siblings didn’t get along with Sheldon at most times, Missy shared a bittersweet relationship with young Sheldon as his younger twin sister. In Young Sheldon, Missy is portrayed as a headstrong character who’s sharp, quirky, and intelligent. But, unlike her brothers, her personality doesn’t do much for her as she grows older.

Missy in The Big Bang Theory

Henggeler has made several guest appearances as Missy across the 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory. While Young Sheldon fans may know her as one of the main characters, Missy first appears in The Big Bang Theory in “The Porkchop Indeterminacy,” season 1, episode 15.

While she played a side character in The Big Bang Theory, Henggeler is now an established actress, playing the pivotal role of Amanda LaRusso in Cobra Kai.

What happens to Missy in The Big Bang Theory?

Fans of Young Sheldon who haven’t watched The Big Bang Theory yet may be slightly disappointed to discover that Missy’s quirks didn’t help her get far in her professional career. Despite being amicable and sharp, Missy ends up a divorced mother of two working as a restaurant hostess.

Conversely, young Missy was the smartest of all Cooper siblings, at least when it came to blindsiding her parents and pulling off stunts to get their attention. Unlike her brothers, who had hobbies outside of school, no matter how bizarre, Missy spent most of her time watching TV and finding reasons to skip school.
