Kick is gaining recognition in the streaming community. Every week, more creators are switching sides and joining the controversial platforms. Who owns Kick? The answer might surprise you.

Kick is slowly gaining popularity among established content creators. Especially those who are looking to avoid Twitch’s unfair policies regarding compensation. The most recent sign-ups include Felix “xQc” Lengyel and Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa, who both signed massive deals.

One of the most attractive features of Kick is the revenue split. 95% of revenue goes to the streamer, while the platform only retains 5%. This is a significant improvement in comparison to Twitch’s 70-30 revenue split.

Who owns Kick?

Considering the revenue split and the seven-figure deals, many started asking questions about Kick’s ownership. How is it possible for the platform to spend so much money?

Kick is backed by Stake’s co-founders Bijan Tehrani and Ed Craven. Stake is a gambling website that is heavily promoted by many of the content creators on Kick. Streamer Tyler “Trainckwreckstv” Nikman is considered one of the faces of Kick and its biggest promoter.

There are conflicting reports about Kick’s ownership. Some reports claim that Tehrani and Crave are angel investors, while others suggest they have different roles in the company. It is unclear if Trainwreckstv holds any stake in the company or if he’s just employed by the platform to promote.

One thing is for certain, and its that Stake is investing in the platform and sponsoring many of the creators in it. Social media personality Corinna Kopf joined Kick, and all of her content revolves around gambling on Stake. On her Instagram, the only story highlight has to do with Stake.

It’s been heavily debated whether Kick is a marketing vehicle for Stake or not. Not all creators are tied to Stake, and not all of them promote the gambling site. However, its strong presence on Kick is undeniable.
