There’s no question that movie and comic fans are experiencing superhero fatigue. The most recent Marvel movies were flops, both in terms of review scores and earnings, but that hasn’t stopped fans from wanting more Spider-Man.
Is a fourth movie featuring Tom Holland on the way?
You read that right — Spider-Man 4 is currently in the works. Nobody is surprised by this, of course, if they know Marvel at all. I actually expect a Spider-Man 44, even if fans start groaning.
There is no release date for Spider-Man 4 just yet. We are expecting it to come out in 2025.
Tom Holland is confirmed to be Spider-Man in Spider-Man 4. Sony chair Tom Rothman has also stated that he hopes the entire cast from the current trilogy will be involved, including Zendaya and Jacob Batalon. This hasn’t been confirmed, but it is more than likely the case.
Don’t expect to see Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield, however. The plot of Spider-Man 4 probably doesn’t include their universes this time around.
The plot for Spider-Man 4 is still a mystery, but rumors point to some interesting possibilities. No Way Home ended with everyone forgetting Peter Parker is Spider-Man, creating some dramatic story elements. It will be interesting to see how Peter tries to reconnect with Mary Jane and Ned.
On top of that, insiders think Venom could make his way to the MCU and expect to see elements of Daredevil: Born Again. Maybe the film will look into Peter’s partnership with Daredevil, aka Matt Murdock. A fight between Spider-Man and Kingpin has also been teased.
There is no trailer for Spider-Man 4 just yet.
