Every Spider-Man and Spider-Verse project coming soon

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has just hit theaters, but producers are already looking at a bunch of upcoming Spider-Verse movies, including a possible live-action film featuring Miles Morales.

Across the Spider-Verse is the sequel to Into the Spider-Verse, one of the most successful superhero animated films of all time. This time around, producers are looking at a $150 million+ global opening weekend. Despite the weekend having not even started yet, there’s already more Spider-Verse movies in the works.

The Spider-Verse animated movies are actually part of a trilogy. Next year, fans should expect Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, and maybe some other Spider-Verse-inspired films.

What is Beyond the Spider-Verse about?

Across the Spider-Verse is being called a “bit of a cliffhanger” leading up to the finale next year. While fans will be anxiously awaiting the conclusion, director Joaquim Dos Santos and his team are already hard at work on the upcoming story.

Beyond the Spider-Verse is expected to come out on March 29, 2024. It will conclude the Spider-Verse animated adventure, featuring Shameik Moore as Miles Morales and other big names. You should expect all the loose ends (of the web) to be wrapped up.

But that’s not the end of the Spider-Verse.

Will there be a live-action Spider-Verse movie?

Producer Amy Pascal confirmed with Variety at the Across the Spider-Verse premiere that fans should expect a live-action Miles Morales movie.

“You’ll see all of it. It’s all happening,” Pascal said.

So far, there’s no release date or information about this film, but it sounds like Pascal is planning to reveal more in the near future.

Spider-Woman movie confirmed

But that’s not all. Pascal also told Variety that a Spider-Woman movie is in the works, but no further information was shared just yet.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse’s Hailee Steinfeld, who plays Gwen Stacy, has said in the past that she’s all for a standalone Spider-Woman movie.

“This is like my dream job. Sign me up over and over again,” she said about doing voice work.

For Steinfeld, doing voice work is “comfortable” for her and a dream come true, allowing her to act in a creative and safe space. But it’s unclear if the standalone Spider-Woman movie will be animated or not.

Is a new Tom Holland Spider-Man movie coming?

It seems like Hollywood can’t get enough of Spider-Man. It’s not only Spider-Verse movies in the pipeline — a fourth Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland and Zendaya is also coming, according to Pascal.

Unfortunately, the writers’ strike has paused the development of major films, including the Spider-Man film. But Pascal is confident the movie is coming, saying, “of course,” another movie is in the works.

He said: “We’re in the process, but the writers strike… Nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”
