Heartstopper Season 3 cast, plot, and release date

Heartstopper is one of the most successful Netflix shows in recent years. Season 2 just premiered but fans are already craving Season 3.

Heartstopper is based on the comic series of the same name by Alice Oseman. The comic follows Charlie, an openly gay boy, and his group of friends, including his love interest, Nick. Heartstopper debuted on Netflix in 2022 and quickly became a sensation thanks to its blend of romance and comedy.

The show catapulted its young cast into stardom. Joe Locke, who plays Charlie, is set to star alongside Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza in Marvel’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Yasmin Finney, who plays Elle, will be part of the upcoming season of Doctor Who.

Heartstopper Season 3 Cast

Most of the cast is expected to return for the third season of the show. Here’s who to expect:

One character won’t be part of season three, the show’s antagonist Ben Hope, played by Sebastian Croft. Oseman revealed that Ben’s role was complete in the show and wouldn’t be returning for any future seasons.

Heartstopper Season 3 plot

Heartstopper Season 3 will adapt Volume 4 of the comic. This volume explores Nick and Charlie’s relationship further as Charlie struggles with his mental health. The audience became aware of Charlie’s struggles during Season 2 as he opened up about his eating disorder.

There are other storylines to explore, like Tao and Elle’s long-distance relationship. Tara and Darcy’s relationship and how it is impacted by Darcy’s home life. The show might explore more sexuality expressions, like Isaac’s asexuality.

Heartstopper Season 3 release date

While Season 3 of Heartstopper is confirmed, the exact release date is yet to be announced. Production was expected to start in October this year, but this schedule might be subject to change. Actors and writers are currently on strike.
