xQc reacts to drama over choosing ExtraEmily on Love Or Host
Felix “xQc” Lengyel has responded to backlash after choosing Emily “ExtraEmily” Zhang as the winner of Love or Host.
Love Or Host is a Twitch show similar to The Dating Game, where a contestant asks questions that slowly eliminate participants until one is left as their apparent love interest. Fans and guests can also call into the show to ask questions for the participant. The winner can then choose to go on a date with the participant or get their Twitch channel hosted by AustinShow after the show.
xQc was the most recent participant on Love Or Host. The popular streamer drew in a huge crowd, who all watched xQc narrow down the contestants until he was left with ExtraEmily. But this decision had some in the streaming community heated.
xQc called out for choosing ExtraEmily on Love Or Host
xQc was the subject of controversy after he picked ExtraEmily as the winner due to her being a member of OTK. OTK, or One True King, is a content creator organization focused on World of Warcraft that’s been under fire recently due to sexual assault allegations against co-founder Rich Campbell and member Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo getting accused of protecting an abuser and then treating the situation as a joke.
xQc wasn’t having this.
On March 7, xQc discussed the backlash he was receiving for choosing ExtraEmily, saying that it seemed like people had stopped having fun.
“People need to start having fun,” xQc ranted. “Guys, please start having fun again… I mean it’s so malding and s—, man. Like just chill…”
While OTK is definitely a controversial organization right now, other streamers also pointed out that it’s really not a big deal. Tyler “Trainwreck” Niknam said that he has no problem with Asmongold, another member of OTK. To xQc, the show was just about creating fun content, not making a statement about OTK.
ExtraEmily had stolen the show with her quick wit and hilarious comebacks, which is why xQc ended up choosing her out of a group that also included Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa.
“Honestly, X, there’s more filler here than in One Piece. I’m definitely the most authentic girl and I think I’m the one you should choose,” ExtraEmily said.
xQc responded that he doesn’t mind fake breasts, adding that “all t—s matter,” but seemed to find ExtraEmily’s confidence and jokes to be the most appealing of the bunch.
