Rumors are circulating about four or five champions who might be arriving in Wild Rift from League of Legends.
According to a variety of Wild Rift content creators and community personalities, Taliyah, Ornn, Aatrox, Yuumi, and possibly Kindred could soon be making their way to Wild Rift.
These champions would fill out enough of Wild Rift’s release schedule to cover the next several months, should the rumors prove true. The leaks include two top laners, one mid laner, a jungler, and a support champion. The two top laners, Ornn and Aatrox, both seem like prime candidates for conversion into the mobile MOBA. Both have simple enough kits that they won’t lose much in the transition to Wild Rift.
Taliyah is the odd one out with a kit that requires quick directional inputs to land her Seismic Shove after selecting its target location.
Yuumi requires even little if any change for her conversion to a mobile platform, given that she’s one of the least mechanically intensive champions on League of Legends’ roster.
Kindred also fills a notable gap in Wild Rift’s roster as one of the only marksman champions capable of duking it out with jungle champions. There have been discussions previously about changing Kindred’s kit to better convey the fantasy of playing two champions at once, but Riot Games seems happy enough with her current kit to consider moving her to Wild Rift.
Wild Rift’s roster of select champions from League of Legends has proven to be able to keep up with the speed of League of Legends’ releases and then some. The most recent champion among the Wild Rift rumors is Yuumi, who released in League of Legends in 2019. Wild Rift seems to be looking to older champions rather than matching League of Legends’ latest releases like Zeri, the Spark of Zaun.
