Who is Tyler1, the star League of Legends streamer?

Tyler1 during a Twitch stream

Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp’s storyline on Twitch is a remarkable one. Controversy followed him wherever he went but eventually, he emerged as one of the top streamers on the platform.

The League of Legends community is well aware of the name Tyler1, who reached the pinnacle of his career through numerous bans and controversies. His rage episodes and exceptional Draven plays made him a notable personality in League, but ultimately brought him to Riot’s naughty list. A few scoldings and permabans later, Tyler1 went from League of Legends’ worst troll to a “reformed” streamer on Twitch with a tremendous fanbase.

His career trajectory is exceptional. Against all odds, Tyler1 has become the face of League of Legends on Twitch. Here’s everything you need to know about the reformed streamer.

Why is Tyler1 famous?

Tyler1 and Faker

Tyler1 initially rose to fame for his toxic streams and viral potential that included clips of him raging, and throwing games intentionally. However, he later took a two-year-long break from streaming LoL to rehabilitate and rebuild his brand.

He made his return in 2018 with a stream titled “THE RETURN.” This was his first time playing League after being permanently banned by Riot games for toxic behavior. His return garnered a staggering 368,000 live viewers, setting a new record on Twitch.

After his return, many tried to ruffle his calm by purposely tilting him. Surprisingly, Tyler1 remained true to his promise of avoiding drama and unnecessary toxicity. Since then, he has established himself as one of the most identifiable League of Legends content creators.

What’s Tyler1’s main champion in League?

Tyler1’s main champion in League of Legends is likely Draven. He is primarily known for his work in the carry role but has also taken on challenges related to other positions.

Tyler1 was long considered a Draven one-trick. After his controversial ban, he expanded his champion pool significantly through different challenges. He hit challenger rank as a mid laner in over 660 games. His most successful champion during this journey was Annie, with a total of 156 games played and a 64% win rate.

What’s Tyler1’s highest rank in League?

Tyler1

Tyler1 successfully made challenger rank in every single role in the game, becoming the first Twitch streamer to do so.

Challenger is the highest rank in League of Legends and represents the top players of a region. It’s no easy feat to reach the higher rank even once, and Tyler1 did it multiple times, setting an almost unbreakable record in League.

Even though Tyler1 has a history of climbing ranked ladders in League, achieving the highest rank on all roles is a massive milestone. Riot Games also acknowledged his achievement, sending him a Challenger Plaque congratulating him on the astonishing feat.

How many followers Tyler1 has on Twitch

In 2022, Tyler1 has 5 million followers, making him the second-most followed League channel on Twitch.

He also has huge followings on other social media platforms. This includes 2.75 million subscribers on YouTube and over 600,000 followers on Twitter.

How old is Tyler1?

Tyler1 was born in Missouri, United States, on March 7, 1995.

He started streaming in 2013, but his breakthrough happened on Twitch in 2017. He’s grown steadily over time as a largely dedicated League of Legends streamer, which is a rarity as many other LoL streamers have fallen off over time or become variety streamers.
