KRU esports has shocked everyone at VCT Champions by sending tournament favorites Sentinels packing. Here’s all you need to know about the argentine powerhouse. 

Valorant’s biggest esports circuit is finally wrapping up in Berlin at the prestigious stage of VCT Champions. The arena has already seen many upsets, but KRU Esports’ win over Sentinels is foremost among them. The Argentine team did the impossible by kicking the unbeatable Sentinels out of the most important event in the history of Valorant esports. 

Who beat Sentinels at VCT Champions?

The Argentinian team was the one to kick Sentinels out of VCT Champions 2021. The team entered the competitive Valorant scene in January 2021 and became a force to be reckoned with when they qualified for Masters Reykjavík, Iceland. Since then, KRU Esports has built a presence on the international scene.

KRU was a massive underdog for its match against Sentinels. The North American giants have dominated the Valorant scene since acquiring Tyson “TenZ” Ngo from Cloud9, but this loss has shocked everyone. The team beat the Shahzeeb “ShahZaM” Khan-led the squad in a stunning 2-1 fashion, becoming the first team outside of Europe to make it to VCT Champions Quarterfinals. 

KRU esports entered the tournament as the underdogs, and now they’re in the running to be crowned the best team in the world. They will now go up against Fnatic for VCT playoffs on December 9.

Who owns KRU esports?

KRU esports was founded by Sergio “Kun” Agüero, a celebrated Argentine footballer. The organization was previously more focused on content creation and streaming but later dipped its toes in esports with Valorant and FIFA. Currently, KRU esports is one of the best teams in Valorant. The team flaunts its link to the famous soccer star regularly.

What region is KRU Valorant? 

KRU is an Argentinian team that stands atop the LATAM standings. It’s currently the only team at VCT representing the region. LATAM wasn’t considered a threat against the likes of North America, Brazil, and Europe, but the team’s lineup proved everyone wrong after beating the tournament’s heavyweights.
