Valorant Patch 8.08 is here and it has bad news for Viper and Cypher mains. Both agents have been heavily nerfed, leaving Valorant players shocked.
Since Valorant’s release in 2020, Viper has undergone dozens of tweaks, mostly nerfs. However, Riot made her viable again in recent updates with much-needed buffs. Now, the developer is dialing down her toolkit, likely to push Clove into the spotlight. It’s unfortunate for Viper mains but Cypher’s nerfs are shocking for everyone.
On April 30, Riot made it official that Viper would lose her ability to re-smoke and Cypher could no longer blend his camera into the walls.
After Patch 8.08, Viper’s smoke can be activated as many times as she wants as long she has fuel, but the agent can no longer re-deploy at new positions.
This change means that Viper players will have to carefully decide the location of the smoke orb, since they can’t change it later. The smoke can now be re-picked only during the buy phase. Viper will also lose a charge of her incendiary Snake Bite.
That’s not all. Cypher’s Spycam is no longer as sneaky as it was before. Instead, the hidden camera will now make a noise that can be heard by those who are being watched.
Valorant Patch 8.08 goes live on April 30, which means the next time you load up the game, Viper will be one molly short.
