Valorant is likely getting Fortnite-style emotes for each agent
If you thought animated sprays were a lot, Riot Games might be considering Fortnite-like emotes for Valorant agents.
Valorant is a highly competitive shooter that requires dedication and skills. To win at a high level, players must give their all. But Riot Games has added plenty of Easter eggs around Valorant maps that add a fun touch to the otherwise grueling games. Shiny skins, animated sprays, and cute plushies are a few examples. However, the developer may be planning to take the fun to a whole new level.
According to Valorant data miners, emotes are making their way to Valorant for each character.
Leakers suggest emotes for Valorant agents
Valorant leakers and data miners are predicting that emotes like those seen in Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds are coming. Not only are they saying this, but they shared an interesting clip of Jett pulling off moves never seen before. This could mean that Riot may add emotes for Valorant agents.
Taunts have been around in video games for a long time, with fighting games incorporating them long before any multiplayer-focused genre. The most famous example of this in recent years are the many dances available in Fortnite. Riot is now eyeing something similar for Valorant, but it doesn’t look like agents are going to be dabbing and flossing. Yet.
There’ll be several poses for each character that players can scroll through. Players can use the mouse wheel to pick whichever victory emote they like showcasing. While many are opposed to the idea of emotes in Valorant, it’d surely be a nice touch to shooting highlights and reels. For better or worse, they’re also the norm in shooters at this point, with PUBG, Fortnite, Overwatch, and many others having them.
Emotes are still potentially in an early stage of development. It’s possible Riot will scratch the idea entirely, but odds are they’ll come out in one form or another.
Whether these emotes will be free is also a big question. These will likely be in the same vein as skins, with most being locked behind a paywall. It won’t be a surprise if different options become purchasable or unlockable in Valorant. Whatever the case, those who switched to Valorant from Fortnite will indeed have a ball.
