csgo cases

It’s never financially wise to open Counter-Strike: Global Offensive crates, but the thrill of opening a high-tier StatTrak™ never gets old.

CSGO cases are infamous for having a very low return on investment, but that doesn’t stop people from opening them anyway. It’s the only way to get brand-new skins, and there’s always a chance of opening something incredible. If you plan to go on a case-opening spree in CSGO, here are the best cases to open for both constant return and winning the jackpot.

According to the CSGO case database Jonesy.moe, the case with the best average return to open in early 2023 is the Revolution Case. This isn’t surprising, as the case is still relatively new. It currently costs $4.94 USD to open with a key, and the average opening creates a skin worth $3.34. Both rifle reds are quite valuable, and the AWP | Duality and M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S are pricy for pink and purple. There’s also a chance of opening a pair of pricy gloves worth well over $7,000.

However, the expected return on the Revolution Case is expected to drop as more of its skins get on the market. If you want something a little more stable, the Operation Wildfire Case has an average opening value of $2.11. It also costs just under a dollar on the Steam Market, making each open cheaper to start.

Which expensive CSGO case should I open?

If you want to go all-or-nothing, there are only a few CSGO cases with the best possible returns. These cases are extremely expensive to open and usually only have a couple of valuable skins.

If you plan for perfect luck, the best case to open is the Operation Bravo case. The second-ever collection added to CSGO, it contains the most valuable possible opening in the AK-47 | Fire Serpent. Battle-scarred copies start at almost $600 and scale up to the tens of thousands for factory new examples. StatTrak™ versions are among the most expensive skins in all of CSGO.

It’s also possible to spring for souvenir cases, which can fetch up to thousands each. Souvenir Cobblestone cases are the most expensive option, as it’s the only way to get one of CSGO’s best AWP skins. Souvenir Dragon Lores can sell for well over $10,000. Just remember that each opening costs $1,000 minimum, but at least you don’t have to buy a key.
