SypherPK begs Epic Games to slow down Fortnite crossovers

Fortnite streamer Ali “SypherPK” Hassan is sick of the battle royale’s constant crossovers.

For the past few seasons, Fortnite has been heavy on its crossovers, including GI Joe, Alien, DC, Borderlands, John Wick, Halo, Ninja, and Marvel. Fortnite has also featured concerts with popular singers and even movie showings. Season 5 has been focused on these crossovers, bringing players tons of cosmetics but not many new items or meaningful changes to the game.

Yesterday, SypherPK said that most of the recent updates had no impactful changes. While the crossovers helped Fortnite stand out and stay hyped, he is hoping Season 6 will be different.

“Hopefully, in Season 6, I definitely want to see this slow down just a little bit. I still want the collaborations, but I think it’s time to shift the focus back towards the updates around the game.”

By game updates, SypherPK specified that he meant new items, new weapons, and map changes. These changes would be more significant than an Ant-Man skin. SypherPK noted that players want fresh ideas instead of Epic Games’ developers just changing the weapon pool by adding vaulted weapons.

While SypherPK feels that Chapter 2 has been “solid” overall, he is hoping that the developers started taking the game a bit more seriously. There is already a rumor that there is a new DC Comics crossover on the way, introducing new game modes and cosmetics to Fortnite. So it may be a little too late to ask for this big change. But maybe Epic Games will bring Fortnite back to basics in the future for people that don’t think shooting Master Chief as Ant-Man is enough.

What was Fortnite’s first collab?

The crossover that started it all for Fortnite was Avengers: Infinity War. Marvel partnered with Fortnite developer Epic Games to promote its movie, and it seems to have been a great success.

What are all the Fortnite crossovers?

There are many crossovers in Fortnite. Chapter 2 Season 5 had a lot of crossovers on its own. This includes the Mandalorian, Kratos, Master Chief, Green Arrow, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Daryl Dixon.

Officially launching in November 2025, this update gave gamers a chance to have a little partner in their Battle Royale. They don't do anything, but some players quite enjoy having SpongeBob, Groot, Bonesy, Pink Pony, Ace the Bat-Hound, and others by their side. Finally, though, there is going to be a reason to have sidekicks. Epic ...

Fortnite x Obsession collab could be in the works as teaser drops Zachary Roberts Nowadays, anything popular ends up getting a Fortnite crossover. Even if it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. There's an American Dad crossover, a Game of Thrones collaboration, and so much more that at one point would've been totally shocking to a gamer. That includes popular movies. Even before it truly hit theaters and took off, there were skins for The Odyssey in the Item Shop. Similarly, another 2026 smash ...
Fortnite adds over 30 AI voices to skins for Creative mode Fortnite
Fortnite adds over 30 AI voices to skins for Creative mode Zachary Roberts Fortnite has come under fire recently for its usage of AI, with one collaboration immediately reexamining the partnership after that revelation. Generative AI usage in games is generally frowned upon by gamers, although game developers are more commonly using it now. That, of course, includes Epic Games, which has just sort of doubled down on the AI usage in Fortnite. However, instead of the normal gen AI, Epic has assigned ...

Fortnite collaboration in danger after generative AI revelation Fortnite
Fortnite collaboration in danger after generative AI revelation Zachary Roberts Fortnite has crossovers with so many different things. If Epic Games wants something in the game, it usually happens. Whether it's Darth Vader, Spider-Man, Batman, Patrick Mahomes, LeBron James, Sabrina Carpenter, or Khaby Lame, anything the developers want usually ends up in the game. It's rare for a collaboration to end up cancelled, but there's real danger of that happening right now. Vampire Survivors was supposed to have a collaboration ...
