Fortnite data miners claim Ant-Man is the next new Marvel skin

Leakers have found something huge in Fortnite’s files. But it’s also very small. 

Fortnite fans love nothing more than data mining for upcoming cosmetics and events in the ever-popular battle royale. This time, data miners have found evidence that they believe means Ant-Man will be the next Marvel hero to get a character skin. 

For the past few weeks, Fortnite fans have seen portals opening up around the map. The most recent one shows a forested environment. Players can hear noises that sound like bugs coming from the muddy ground beneath looming trees. While Ant-Man isn’t seen in the video, the portal’s codename is “SmallFry.” This makes the possibility seem even more likely. 

Zero Point portals introduce new Fortnite skins

Epic has been using these portals throughout the Zero Point storyline to hint at upcoming crossover characters. When the portal showed a neon digital world, Tron was later announced. When the portal showed Ryu’s Suzaku Castle stage, Street Fighter was announced with skins for Ryu and Chun-Li. The most recent portal is more than likely a hint at another crossover. And fans think Epic is going back to Marvel this time around. 

Fortnite is already full of Marvel heroes, so an Ant-Man appearance in Season 5 wouldn’t be surprising. This season moved away from Epic’s rich and action-packed crossover events with Marvel and focused on unexpected characters from Alien, Predator, Halo, God of War, and even GI Joe. Ant-Man would be the first Avenger to appear in Season 5. 

Season 6 is predicted to start after next week, sometime after March 15. Before then, there will most likely be some type of cinematic event to kick off the new season. It will probably revolve around Zero Point, which is a bridge to other realities located under The Loop. It’s becoming more unstable, which explains why so many characters from other realities and universes are dropping into the battle royale. 

Since Ant-Man is involved with quantum physics and dimensional travel, it will be interesting to see how this latest superhero moves along this storyline.
