Secret ARG website confirms new support champion Renata Glasc
A secret ARG website has revealed the identity of the next champion to join League of Legends,
Renata Glasc.
After a data mine of the Chinese version of Teamfight Tactics found fresh art and a name attached to a new unit, Riot Games has taken the first official step in reveal the dark new support coming to League of Legends.
Renata Glasc, founder of Glasc Industries
A mysterious site was found by some League of Legends fans featuring an advertisement for a company that goes by the name
Glasc Industries. The advertisement for it appears very similar to data mined art of the possible new support champion.
If one clicks through to the site, they are presented with a website advertising an in-world corporation known as Glasc Industries. Glasc Industries’ page has three options: one about their story, one about their founder, and one about its products. Glasc Industries is a Chemtech company that exists in Zaun and produces beauty products, prosthetic limbs, and weaponry. According to the site, Glasc Industries is beginning to expand its reach into Piltover from Zaun.
Glasc Industries’ founder is a woman by the name of Renata Glasc, and she is the same woman pictured in the advertisement. According to her biography on the website, Renata grew up in Zaun and took inspiration from a family alchemical business to improve life across Zaun and Piltover. This seems to be publicity-speak for her being born into a Chembaron family and running a Chemtech empire. The biography upsells her philanthropic efforts and focuses on her goals to “rebuild beauty through state-of-the-art technology”.
Did Glasc Industries start a chemical fire?
In the page about the company’s story, a recent noxious chemical fire is made reference to. Glasc Industries seems to try to absolve itself of any responsibility by highlighting rebreathers donated to victims, but Renata’s dark theme means that she likely had something to do with the Chemtech fire that appears to have happened in recent canon.
Renata will be a dark enchantress who infuses her teammates with Chemtech beautification and buffs to make them more powerful. Language around “going berserk” has been used in association with Renata, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see her ultimate ability involve turning an ally into a superpowered version of themselves.
