Developers have confirmed that big changes are coming to Ranked in Season 18 of Apex Legends.
Apex Legends players are disappointed with Season 17’s Ranked experience, with many rushing to Reddit to call it unrewarding. Gamers expressed that Ranked doesn’t feel like it rewards players for their skills, with players able to climb up the ranks based on match outcome instead of their performance.
But an Apex Legends developer confirmed to players on Reddit that changes are coming in Season 18.
After seeing the high-ranked Apex Legends player’s frustrations with Season 17 Ranked, mode designer Aaron “Exgeniar” L responded on Reddit.
At first, Exgeniar congratulated the player for beating “a bunch of players” with higher MMRs. He told the player they should be “proud” of reaching Master Rank but Apex Legends players were frustrated with this take.
Said one in response: “Top KEK, do you genuinely believe this or are you just posting canned PR responses?”

Another player asked: “So you guys think the current system is fine? Are there any changes we can expect next season?”
In response, Exgeniar said that there will “definitely” be changes in Season 18. Unfortunately, he didn’t go into detail and it’s unclear what the changes will be. This left some fans disappointed that no changes would be made before Season 18, which begins on August 8, 2023.
Right now, it’s unclear what the Ranked changes will be in Apex Legends Season 18.
Not much is known about Season 18, but it’s looking like there will most likely be massive updates to Revenant and possibly no new legend because of this.
