New Dota 2 battle pass drops with Drow Arcana, Mirana persona

The next Dota 2 battle pass has arrived with Aghanim’s Labyrinth: The Continuum Conundrum and it brings a mix of surprising and not-so-surprising content.

After a “coming soon” announcement from Valve and a number of leaks, the long-awaited new Dota 2 battle pass is here. It includes all the usual fixin’s of a Dota 2 battle pass including a cavern crawl, the weekly quests used in the Nemestice Battle Pass, and an immortal treasure. Unlike Nemestice, there are two other treasure loot boxes that can be found in the battle pass.

The package is made up of a combination of DOTA: Dragon’s Blood and Aghanim’s Labyrinth items, giving it a strange feel overall. The good news is that unlike with Nemestice, there are actually a lot of good rewards to be had in the Aghanim’s Labyrinth: The Continuum Conundrum Battle Pass. All the details can be found on the official Dota 2 blog.

Drow Ranger Arcana, Mirana hero persona are battle pass’ big prizes

The contents of the Aghanim’s Labyrinth: The Continuum Conundrum Battle Pass include the previously leaked Drow Ranger arcana and DOTA: Dragon’s Blood-inspired Mirana hero persona, with the third big prize of the battle pass being a “prestige bundle” for Hoodwink named Tomo’Kan Incarnate that gives her a fiery tail and hair that leaves a trail of pink flower petals.

The Drow Ranger arcana doesn’t wildly reimagine her character, but sees her drop her signature longbow in favor of a massive crossbow. The set has an unlockable alternate style that turns her cape and crossbow effects blood red.

But while the battle pass itself doesn’t pack any especially big surprises, it does come alongside the return of Aghanim’s Labyrinth. Dota 2 battle passes are typically attached to a limited-time mode, but instead of the return of a more wintery game mode like Frostivus or the Greeviling, Valve dusted off the dungeon crawler from The International 10 Battle Pass from 2020.

Also included in the battle pass are new creep and tower skins. There are also unlockable chat wheel sounds taken from DOTA: Dragon’s Blood that are sure to fluster enemies and teammates alike, including Mirana’s iconic “stupid. Brave, but stupid.” But instead of unlocking a full set of chat wheel sounds, players unlock one random spell at a time.

Aghanim’s Labyrinth and battle pass return with The Continuum Conundrum

For better or worse, Aghanim’s Labyrinth is back in Dota 2 with the Continuum Conundrum. The dungeon crawler garnered mixed reactions at the time, but this new iteration remains largely similar to the original.

Once again, players need to progress through a series of challenges using a select number of characters. Aghanim’s Labyrinth: The Continuum Conundrum allows players to unlock more characters for play as battle pass rewards.

Once again, players can receive Battle Pass levels and Arcane Fragments, which are used to upgrade one’s character for future playthroughs, in the labyrinth. This allows players to progress further on future playthroughs, but there is a weekly limit on how many points can be earned.

This means that players will need to start grinding right away in order to stay on top of things and to have a chance of defeating the final boss on higher difficulty levels.
