BLAST has just announced that it’s entering the Dota 2 esports scene with five competitive events in 2024 and beyond.

BLAST is an esports entertainment company that has successful esports series like the Fortnite Champion Series, Rocket League Championship Series, and more. Now, BLAST wants to add Dota 2 to its growing list of esports titles.

There have been five announced BLAST tournaments for the 2024 and 2025 series for Dota 2. Starting in November of this year, BLAST.tv will become the “new home of Dota 2 esports,” according to a press release.

Andrew Haworth, Valves VP of ecosystems, said: “We are delighted to be entering Dota 2 and have plans for BLAST to bring a new level of production and excitement that Dota fans haven’t seen before. It’s a game we love as fans and players, we’ve been following closely as an interested tournament organizer for the last few years.

“As we’ve grown as a business and expand into further titles, Dota has always been on our wish list. With the recent changes to the Dota ecosystem we feel it’s the perfect opportunity for BLAST to come in, provide the community with the next level of tournaments and become the new home of Dota 2.”

BLAST has hosted and streamed many esports productions in the past, including Fortnite, Rocket League, Counter-Strike, and Rainbow Six Siege. Dota 2 will join them in having streamed tournaments on BLAST.tv, an interactive esports live viewing platform with a timeline feature, highlight capabilities, and 4K options. There’s also a moderated live chat feature with polls and opportunities to connect with other fans.

According to BLAST reps, BLAST.tv will be a “one-stop-shop” for Dota 2 esports fans. Providing them with the latest player stats, team standings, mini-games, news and exclusive content and experiences.
