Dota 2 Crownfall update: What's new?
Dota 2’s Crownfall update has arrived and while some players may be disappointed by the lack of a new hero, the event itself is quite impressive.
First announced in February, Crownfall is a highly anticipated update that promises tons of new additions to the game. Players had expected Ringmaster to arrive with this update, but that’s not the case.
Instead, Crownfall brings a four-part in-game lore event, Arcanas, treasures, coins, and more.
What’s the Dota 2 Crownfall update?
Dota 2 Crownfall update is based on the lore of Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit, also bringing Arcanas for the two. It is a continuation of the earlier released comics and narrates the story of Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit on their journey to Midgate.
It will be divided into four parts:
- Act I – The Markets of Midgate: This act is now available to play. Players can win tokens, coins, and more by playing regular Dota 2 games
- Act II – The Deserts of Druud: Releases in May
- Act III – The Frost of Icewrack
- Act IV – The Spires of Skywrath
What is the Market of Midgate in Dota 2?
Players can earn rewards and tokens by navigating through the Market of Midgate, which is a free mode for all. Here are some free rewards you can win:
- Treasures: Act I contains two treasure chests, which means 24 new sets of items. You can unlock some of these sets simply by playing Dota 2
- Candy Sacks: Find the Candyworks Sithil and Quirt caravan on each Crownfall map to upgrade it and exchange your candies for hero sets, couriers, wards, etc.
- Crownfall Coins: You can earn Crownfall coins by exploring different routes on the map. After collecting 10 coins, you can visit the Crownfall shop, where you can get a discount of around $7.99 on any product that costs $7.99 or more
- Wyrdwing Exaltation Set: An exclusive set for Invoker is awarded upon completion of all The Market of Midgate trials
How to unlock Arcana styles in Crownfall update
Crownfall introduces Arcanas for Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit, the two heroes around which the event is based. Vengeful Spirit has 3 styles, but Skywrath only has 2. Here’s how to unlock Arcana styles in Crownfall:
- The Skywrath Mage Arcana has the dark default style that you can buy a$34.99
- Skywrath Mage’s bonus arcana style unlocked after completing the main quest in Act IV
- Complete the main Quest in Act IV to unlock the bonus Arcana style for Vengeful Spirit
- To unlock the “Queen Imperia” Arcana style, complete all main events and side quests in all four Crownfall Acts
