The LCS has chosen its All-Pro team with North American players as the majority.
All-Pro Teams are a tradition near the end of the regular season. Professional players, casters, coaches, and journalists get to pick the best players of the season. In the 2023 Summer Split, three out of the five spots have gone to North American players. It sparked, once again, the conversation about North American Talent.
The 2023 Summer Split All-Pro team consists of the following players.
Top Lane – Eric “Licorice” Ritchie from Golden Guardians
Whenever there is a discussion about North American talent, Licorice is one of the first names on the list. Regardless of what uniform he is wearing, Licorice has stayed consistent through the seasons and is always a player to watch.
Jungle – Robert “Blaber” Huang from Cloud9
Blaber is the poster child for talent development. He climbed through the ranks in Cloud9 until he secured a spot in the LCS starting roster. Blaber has multiple domestic titles and international appearances under his belt. He is respected by other junglers and is a role model for the upcoming talent.
Mid Lane – Joseph Joon “jojopyun” Pyun from Evil Geniuses
Mid laners are a great topic of discussion in the LCS. Many believe that North American mid laners are simply not good enough. Jojopyun put an end to those opinions with his charming personality and risky gameplay. At 18 years old, he is already being compared to the likes of Soren “Bjerg” Bjergsen.
Bot Lane – Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol from Cloud9
Berserker is once again in the All-Pro team. He is considered the best in the league, no room for debate. After a little over a year as a trainee with T1, Berserker arrived on the LCS and took it by storm. He has flourished as a player and quickly become a fearsome opponent.
Support – Choi “huhi” Jae-hyun from Golden Guardians
One thing has become abundantly clear over the years; no matter what team he is playing for, huhi will always make his team better. Golden Guardians is having one of the best seasons in the team’s history, due in great part to huhi’s performance.
