After making it to the quarterfinals of the 2021 World Championship, it’s likely that Cloud9 will once again be shaking up its roster for the upcoming season.

With many rumors surrounding the top LCS organizations, C9 is in the middle of it all. The biggest rumor around C9 is that mid laner Luka “Perkz” Perković is on his way back to Europe to join Team Vitality. This could leave C9 with a lot of money to spend on new stars for the upcoming season, but founder and CEO Jack Etienne was quick to shut down some of the biggest rumors.

These rumors include the likes of former TSM mid laner Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, Rogue bot laner Steven “Hans Sama” Liv, and G2 Esports support Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle. All these big players could act as strong additions to C9, but Etienne was quick to say that none of those players will be joining the squad.

“After last year I’ve learned to be careful about sharing roster information early but I’d like to clarify one false rumor,” Jack Etienne said on Twitter. “I’m certain the roster will not include any of the following people: Bjergsen, Mikyx, and Hans Sama.”

League of Legends fans respond to C9 roster rumors

The tweet instantly saw a reaction within the League of Legends community, with fans having to reconsider which rumors should be trusted. While nothing is ever confirmed before any official news hits, it could seem like C9 is eyeing other players for the upcoming season than first anticipated. With that said, there’s always a chance that things change in the offseason.

A lot of eyes are currently on these three players Bjergsen specifically. The veteran will be returning as a player next year but not under the TSM banner. Others are speculating that Bjergsen will end up on Team Liquid, which would be another groundbreaking move in the LCS.

The official start to the LoL offseason will be on November 15, when player contracts will expire for many big names.
