The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story introduces new characters to the League of Legends universe including one Eldred Crownguard, and you might be wondering, is he related to Lux and Garen?
You may know Luxanna “Lux” Crownguard and her older brother, Garen. The Crownguard siblings are some of the most prominent champions in League of Legends. They reside in Demacia and are part of most of the stories that take place in the region.
In the Lux comic, Sylas befriends Lux and uses her to escape imprisonment. The Mageseeker takes place after the events of this comic, where we meet another member of the Crownguard family in Tianna Crownguard. She is a member of the Mageseekers, a group dedicated to hunting down and imprisoning mages living in Demacia.
In The Mageseeker, we meet Eldred Crownguard, Mageseeker leader, husband of Tianna, and uncle of both Lux and Garen. In the game, Eldred Crownguard wants to capture Sylas no matter the cost. Eldred is a Crownguard by marriage. Tianna is the sister of Pieter Crownguard, the father of Lux and Garen.
This is not the first appearance these characters have in a game. Both Lord Eldred and Tianna are part of the Demacia deck in Legends of Runeterra.
Lux and Garen are the only members of the Crownguard family who are part of League of Legends. Eldred and Tianna are playable cards in Legends of Runeterra, but there are no plans to add the duo to League of Legends.
Not every character introduced in other Riot Games titles will make it to League of Legends. The games developed through Riot Forge are meant to expand on the universe, giving players a closer look at certain characters and stories.
The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story is now available on all major platforms.
