How to play Day of Doom LTM in Fortnite

The Day of Doom Limited-Time Mode (LTM) in Fortnite offers a dynamic Marvel-themed experience where players choose between Doom’s Henchmen and the Avengers. With distinct roles and objectives, this mode blends strategic gameplay with action-packed battles. To help you navigate this LTM effectively, here’s a comprehensive guide on launching, understanding the gameplay, and the best strategies to secure victory.

Launching Day of Doom – Gameplay overview

To access the Day of Doom LTM, go to the Discover tab in Fortnite and find the ‘By Epic’ category. Locate the Day of Doom tile and select it to join the mode. Alternatively, use the Search tab to find it by name. This mode supports up to 32 players divided into two teams.

In Day of Doom, players are divided into two teams with specific goals. Each team has regenerating Health and Shield outside of combat, is immune to fall damage, and has unlimited ammo for all weapons. Doom’s Henchmen need to collect six Arcane Artifacts scattered across the map. Each artifact requires a 6-second interaction to collect. Once all artifacts are gathered, the Avengers lose their respawn capability, and the Henchmen win by eliminating all Avengers. The first Henchman to collect an artifact becomes Doom’s Chosen and gains the Ultra Doom Armor, which provides special abilities like the Scorch Beam and Mystical Gigabomb. If the Doom’s Chosen is defeated, another Henchman will be randomly chosen to wear the armor.

The Avengers’ goal is to stop the Henchmen from collecting artifacts. They must eliminate all 80 respawns of the Henchmen to win. Avengers have four randomly assigned loadouts each time they respawn, based on different Marvel heroes.

As previously mentioned, each team will have a specific loadout in the beginning. Although Henchmen have only 1 loadout, the Avengers have 4 randomly selected loadout with each respawn. The load outs for each team are as follows:

Strategies for victory

As newest LTM in Fortnite with vastly different mechanics, strategies are a must in order to ensure victory. Some strategies that we found effective are as follows:

• As Avengers
  • Land at the location where the first artifact is expected to drop. Build a metal structure around the artifact to secure it with your team.
  • Have one teammate stay within the structure with a weapon like the Dual Micro SMGs, while the rest focus on eliminating Doom’s Henchmen.
  • Rotate between artifact locations, build defensive structures, and take down Doom’s Chosen when encountered.
  • Use your unlimited respawns to play aggressively and control the battlefield.
• As Doom’s Henchmen
  • Land at artifact locations and use Doom’s Mystical Bomb to clear out heroes.
  • Quickly capture artifacts and summon Ultra Doom.
  • Maintain high ground and utilize the Arcane Gauntlets and Shockwave Grenades strategically.
  • Focus on capturing artifacts and pushing the Avengers once their respawns are depleted to secure victory.
