Fortnite has a history of exciting collaborations with pop culture icons, and one of the latest involved none other than Sabrina Carpenter. However, when her signature Espresso emote, “Caffeinated,” debuted in the game earlier this year, it faced significant criticism from fans. Now, Epic Games has announced that the emote will return with a key change that players have been asking for. This is all there is to it.
When Sabrina Carpenter first made her Fortnite debut, fans were thrilled to see her hit song Espresso included as part of the package. However, the emote, called “Caffeinated,” came with a surprise—and not a welcome one. Instead of featuring the well-known original version of Espresso, the emote used a sped-up remix titled Double Shot. This decision left many fans and Fortnite players disappointed. While they were excited about the collaboration, fans felt that the remix failed to capture the essence of the song. After receiving a wave of backlash, Epic Games decided to remove the emote from the game temporarily, promising to revisit it at a later time.
The much-anticipated update is now on the horizon. In an announcement made on social media, Epic Games revealed that the emote would return with the original version of Espresso in the upcoming v32.00 update. The update is set to launch alongside the Chapter 2 Remix and the end of Chapter 5, Season 4. Additionally, it is slated to arrive on November 2, 2024.
The return of the Caffeinated or Espresso emote with the correct music has excited fans who were initially let down by the earlier version. This update provides players with the chance to enjoy the emote as originally intended. More so, it brings Carpenter’s hit song back in its authentic form.
With Chapter 2 Remix on the horizon, Fortnite players can also look forward to a range of new content, from refreshed skins to the reappearance of popular map locations, ensuring that there will be plenty to explore and enjoy.
