Fortnite Update v31.20 with Marvel-Themed content
Epic Games has launched the Fortnite update v31.20 on September 17, bringing a host of new Marvel-themed features to the popular battle royale game. This latest update includes a new limited-time mode, a special Iron Man outfit, and additional content.
New Limited-Time Mode: Day of Doom
The highlight of the v31.20 update is the introduction of the Day of Doom mode. This mode supports up to 32 players divided into two teams: Doom’s Henchmen and The Avengers. Each team has distinct objectives that are as follows:
- Doom’s Henchmen goal is to gather six Arcane Artifacts scattered around the map. Collecting all six Arcane Artifacts is essential as it causes Avengers lose their respawns. After the collection the Henchmen must eliminate all Avengers to win. Henchmen have access to powerful items and weapons, including Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets and a variety of Mythic-rarity guns.
- The Avengers need to prevent the Henchmen from collecting all six artifacts. Their victory is achieved by depleting the Henchmen’s respawn pool. Avengers are equipped with themed loadouts, such as Captain America’s shield and War Machine’s arsenal randomly provided loadout upon each respawn.
This mode will be available in the game until October 4 at 9 AM ET, so players should take advantage while it’s active.
Update v31.20 brings new Iron Man skin and more Marvel content
The update v31.20 finally introduces an Iron Man Mk 45 outfit to the Fortnite item shop. The outfit is modeled after Iron Man’s variant from Avengers: Age of Ultron and is priced at 2,500 V-Bucks. The bundle includes the Iron Man Mk 45 Outfit, Energy Collector Back Bling, Mark 45 Energy Blades Pickaxe, and the Arc Reaction Wrap. This content will be available until October 6.
Alongside the Day of Doom mode and Iron Man outfit, the update v31.20 also features several other changes and improvements. The changes and improvement are as follows:
- Stark Mobile Armories: These are dropping into Battle Royale and Zero Build modes. These armories offering high-tech weapons and gear, including Iron Man and War Machine-themed items.
- Unvaulted Stark Industries Energy Rifle: This weapon is now available in the game, found in Chests or from Stark Industries Supply Drones.
- Aim Assist Update: The update introduces human-like aim assist for controller players. This aims to provide a more balanced experience by simulating human reaction times.
As players enjoy the new content, there are also hints of future events. Data miners suggest a potential crossover with the “Saw” franchise for the upcoming Fortnitemares event. Sadly, though specifics and timing remain unconfirmed.
Overall, the v31.20 of the update enriches Fortnite with exciting Marvel-themed content and gameplay improvements, ensuring that both Marvel fans and battle royale enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to.
