The latest Valorant patch update 6.06 delivers much-needed nerfs for agent 21 Gekko’s Wingman and Moshpit.Â
Valorant agent 21 Gekko has been getting a lot of flak for being too overpowered. From Wingman defusing the Spike to Moshpit dealing instant death, Gekko is indeed a pest. However, within a month of release, the new agent has become a player favorite, already becoming an S-tier Valorant agent in competitive games.Â
His success could be attributed to the unforgiving incendiary and Gekko’s sidekick Wingman, both of which are getting slight nerfs in patch 6.06.
Since Gekko’s release, players have been complaining that he’s too powerful. In patch 6.06, Riot has shared that Gekko is getting some balance updates.Â
Gekko is indeed a power-packed agent. However, everyone adjusted to most of his toolkit, but his Moshpit was breaking the game. The green blob will heavily damage the enemy’s utility, even destroying Killjoy’s Lockdown, which is attained at eight ultimate points. Â
Riot has now nerfed the damage dealt for the sake of fair play. As a result, Moshpit damage has now been reduced from 2.5x to 1x. This should significantly change how Moshpit interacts with other utilities in the game. At least, Killjoy’s Lockdown will no longer fall prey to an incendiary.Â
Besides Moshpit, Wingman has also received a much-needed tweak. No matter what, the sidekick will now die as well if he’s the only one alive on the server. Players noted incidents where Wingman would keep defusing the Spike as the last one alive. That will no longer be the case.Â
Both of these balances should help players counter Gekko more effectively. However, these nerfs aren’t precisely game-changing, and Gekko may receive more changes in the next patches.
Besides Gekko nerfs, Riot has fixed bugs and added the ability to hide agent outlines and fresnel in Valorant patch 6.06.
