Fortnite December 1 battle pass update: Simultaneous progress

Reading time: 2 min

Starting December 1, Epic Games will introduce a significant update to Fortnite’s Battle Pass system. This update allows players to progress all active Battle Passes simultaneously by earning XP in any game mode. The change aims to simplify and streamline the experience for players, ensuring that all time spent counts towards various passes. Additionally, new updates to the pass system will be released on November 2. Aimed to give players fresh ways to enjoy in-game progression.

Unified Battle Pass progression for all modes

Fortnite XP that will level up Battle Pass and other passes as well

Firstly, This means that players can level up all active passes simply by playing their preferred modes. Whether that is Fortnite Battle Royale, Fortnite Creative, LEGO Fortnite, or even the upcoming Fortnite Festival Season 6. No longer will players need to dedicate time to specific modes for certain rewards. Every experience point will contribute to all Battle Passes simultaneously.

Some of the anticipated changes include:

  • Cross-Mode XP Progression
    • XP earned in any game mode will apply to all Battle Passes at once.
  • Reward Flexibility
    • Players can unlock and claim rewards in a non-sequential order across active passes.
    • This is actually similar to the existing Battle Pass format.
  • Auto-Claim Feature
    • A new setting will allow rewards to be automatically claimed as soon as they are unlocked.
    • This makes the completion of Battle Pass smoother in this update

Music Pass introduction – New reward system

There is much more than just the Battle Pass update! On November 2, Fortnite will launch a new Music Pass, replacing the former Festival Pass. Players will now be able to earn Music Pass XP in Fortnite Festival and Fortnite Remix Chapter 2. The Music Pass will offer a blend of free and premium rewards, giving fans more choices and adding a unique theme to the game.

Following this shift, Epic Games has also announced that other passes, including the LEGO Pass for LEGO Fortnite, will be updated with this unified progression system on December 1. Additionally, Epic is retiring Festival Points on November 2, with Battle Stars and Studs set to be phased out on December 1. These changes mean that players will soon have the option to purchase individual pass rewards directly, rather than buying levels to access them.

This update in Fortnite’s Battle Pass progression and reward system is expected to improve experience for both new and longtime players. A wonderful update, ensuring flexibility, ease of access, and plenty of fresh content to enjoy. Whether players are jumping into Fortnite Battle Royale or testing their creativity in Fortnite Creative, each moment in the game will contribute to all active Battle Passes. This truly makes this update a highly anticipated one for the Fortnite community.
