Everything we know about Fortnite Season 3
The next Fortnite season is rapidly approaching, but what can fans expect from the next quarterly installment in Epic Games’ hit battle royale?
Fortnite Chapter 4 has focused on an alternate version of Fortnite’s island, stitched together from fragments of various dimensions. This is why the island has such varied terrain, mixed time periods of buildings, and portals opening up and spitting out a wide variety of NPCs. This seems to be the pattern for Fortnite Chapter 4, so what can fans expect from the next season, and what do we already know?
Fortnite Season 3 details
Fortnite Season 3 is expected to release in early June, with rumors indicating June 10 as a likely candidate. There’s no official confirmation just yet, but that approximate timeframe would match Epic Games’ patterns of release. Given that season one involved the introduction of the medieval Oathbound, and the second season drowned the southeastern portion of the map in Japanese-inspired cyberpunk, a third time period seems likely to arrive in the next season.
What sort of design inspiration that third season might take is unclear, but rumors abound are saying that season two won’t conclude with the live events many fans are used to. Possible classic thematics might include Wild West, Steampunk, or other popular genres. This version of the island probably won’t be around in Chapter Five, so really pushing the limits of the multi-dimensional setting is something Epic Games seems to be doing. Season Two has seen tons of mechanics added to the island, from floating loot islands to Jedi training to the insane mobility of the Attack on Titan event’s ODM gear.
The only information about the next season that’s been leaked ahead of time was the Starter Pack leaked in v24.40.
The aesthetic seems like a futuristic industrial look, but there’s no guarantee that the Starter Pack represents the larger theme of the new season.
