The most anticipated event in the Valorant calendar, Champions, was attended by some A-list celebrities such as Elon Musk and Ben Affleck, among others.Â
The conclusion of Valorant Champions, which saw North American team Evil Geniuses take down Paper Rex in the grand final, was hosted in Los Angeles, California. As a result, a few A-list celebrities in the area attended the tournament to greet fans and watch the final game of the event.Â
One of the richest men in the world and owner of SpaceX, Elon Musk, attended the tournament. During the third map, Bind, Musk was seen as the camera panned to the crowd. Musk was lauded by the attendees as they chanted “bring back Twitter” while the match continued.Â
Musk wasn’t the only celebrity in attendance, however. Fans spotted actor and filmmaker Ben Affleck, who recently portrayed Bruce Wayne as Batman in the DC movies, giving interviews outside of the venue.Â
Affleck was asked about his favorite Agent in the game, to which he responded with KAY/O and Raze. “I’m a little promiscuous with who I main; I move around a little bit,” he said in one interview.Â
While a few A-list celebrities attended the event, some Valorant celebrities made an appearance.Â
Sentinels superstar Tyson “TenZ” Ngo attended the tournament alongside Tarik Celik, to the delight of the Sentinels fans, despite the team failing to qualify for Champions.Â
The tournament was incredibly popular, with a peak viewership of 1.29 million, according to data analytics company Esports Charts.Â
The viewership result made Valorant Champions 2023 the third most-viewed event in the game’s history.Â
The tournament at the start of the year, VCT LOCK//IN, achieved a peak viewership of 1.4 million.Â
