Valve has likely dropped the first official teaser about the Counter-Strike 2 release date, and it makes all the sense.

Valve continues to deliver new maps and content in CS2 beta but remains tightlipped about the official CS2 release date. Those who couldn’t get early access in the second wave are still patiently waiting to trot on Overpass’ uber-realistic waters and experience Mirage’s new royal palace.

Now, players are hunting for teasers within maps and may have found something palpable.

Overpass is the latest map in CS2 beta, and while it’s pretty easy to get immersed in its visually pleasant imagery, keen-eyed players have stayed true to their mission of finding a clue. A player named hobshy has discovered a reasonable hint regarding the CS2 release date on Overpass.

When is the CS2 release date?

A CS2 playtester named hobshy pointed out that the two clocks on Overpass show the same time, which aligns with potential CS2 release week.

The two clocks are stuck on 08:24, which falls on the latter half of August, which is already rumored to be CS2 release month. However, big updates typically arrive on Tuesday, so some claim it could just be a release week, with significant updates across seven days. Usually, such leaks make little to no sense, but the clock teaser is pretty logical.

Only a few maps are left to be tested, and if Valve makes them playable for two weeks each, the potential date automatically stretches to the end of August. So far, this has been the only tangible teaser about the CS2 release date from Valve, so players are milking out new logic every day. And all of them make sense.

It remains to be seen how much truth there is to the clock teaser. In any case, players are anticipating CS2 to be released somewhere between the end of August and the beginning of September.
