Valorant Episode 5 Act 3 battle pass includes a priceless, meaningful gun buddy dedicated to Corbin, a fan of Valorant who died of cancer.
Riot Games has always made a point of acknowledging hard-working, creative, and wholesome players. Since all Valorant items can be bought with money, except for fist bump gun buddies, Riot uses this coveted item to acknowledge players. Besides the charm, the developer adds references in battle pass to memorize players, such as the Revive Me Jett spray.
Valorant’s recent battle pass is packed with coveted items and weapons. But Riot has also slipped in a shiny little charm that memorizes Corbin, a Valorant fan who died of cancer.
Corbin had a lifelong wish to work at Riot Games. Through Make a Wish Foundation, he expressed his desire a few days before passing away. When his inspiring story reached Riot, the developer contacted his family to immortalize his memory. With the help of his older brother, Riot whipped up a shiny star dubbed Corbin’s Light gun buddy.
“The Make-a-Wish Foundation named a star after Corbin, so we decided to honor him by creating a Gun Buddy inspired by his star, and additional design notes from his brother,” Valorant’s associate integration artist Rebecca Smith said.
Corbin’s Light gun buddy is a small star in blue color encrusted with a gold frame. Riot chose blue to represent his favorite color. The tiny charm represents Corbin but also aligns with Valorant’s astronomical theme. The developer will also donate via Riot Games Social Impact Fund to the C-Squad Foundation, started by his family in his honor right before he passed.
How to get Corbin’s Light gun buddy
The latest Valorant bundle comes at 1,000 Valorant points, but it’s worth every penny. Besides meme-inspired buddies and stickers, Riot has dedicated a meaningful gun buddy to a Valorant fan who lost his battle to cancer.
Players can get Corbin’s Light gun buddy by simply buying this act’s battle pass and grinding through 30 tiers on the paid battle pass.
