Cloud9 is the 2023 LCS Spring split champion

Cloud9 is the 2023 LCS Spring split champion. The team defeated Golden Guardians to earn back-to-back titles.

Cloud9 remains the undisputed LCS champion and is now heading to the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational as the number-one team in North America. The road to finals was an easy one for Cloud9.

The defending champion finished the regular season in the first place, only dropping four matches, one of them against Golden Guardians. In playoffs, Cloud9 faced now disbanded team CLG in the first round and took a 3-1 victory. In the following round, C9 faced FlyQuest, the other favorite, to make it to the finals. It was a clean sweep for C9 that secured a 3-0 victory.

To everyone’s surprise, FlyQuest was taken down by Golden Guardians, missing finals and the opportunity to qualify for MSI.

In the battle against Golden Guardians, C9 was predicted by most analysts as the winner of the series. C9 started strong, turning around a match that looked like a Golden Guardians win. In the second game, Golden Guardians claimed what would be their only win of the day.

The rest of the series was dominated by C9. The team looked cohesive and strong on the Summoner’s Rift, giving fans hope as the team heads to the first international event of the year.

Berserker wins 2023 Spring MVP

C9’s success doesn’t come as a surprise. The roster is considered one, if not the best, of the entire region. In a roster full of stars, one shines brighter than the others, ADC Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol.

Berserker, who won the Champions Finals MVP in Summer 2022, has earned yet again another individual award as the 2023 Spring MVP. In the final vote, Berserker was against his fellow teammate Robert “Blaber” Huang.

There will be no rest for either Golden Guardians or Cloud9. The North American squads must get ready to make the trip across the pond. MSI 2023 starts on May 2.
