Call of Duty players are always critical of the first person shooter but now some gamers are claiming the game has become unplayable after a recent update.

Season Four Reloaded dropped June 26, bringing a lot of awesome new content to the popular shooter. But after the update, a lot of players noticed an aggressive amount of lag that has made the game “unplayable” and “unstable.”

Gamers flocked to Reddit to share their frustrating experiences. A lot of players agreed that they were experiencing the same thing — the game now shutters and bugs out.

“Yep, it’s fine for like a few minutes, then goes to s—. This new update really pushed the ‘ruin game’ button just to torment us,” one player commented.

According to many Call of Duty players, it seems like the game has been bugging out for the past three days. A lot of players commented how they can’t believe that developers haven’t addressed the issue yet. Is there anything you can do meanwhile?

How to fix lag in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

According to a lot of players, the game seems to start lagging and losing connecting, with some even getting kicked out of games. This has caused a lot of players to avoid playing MW3 altogether until developers have a fix.

Until then, is there anything you can do? Unfortunately there are no official fixes that will reduce your lag.

Network issues

  • Unstable connection: Check with your internet service provider to see if there are some outages
  • WiFi: Try switching to a wired ethernet connection to reduce lag
  • Server problems: During popular playtimes, the servers may be overloaded and have more lag
  • Background applications: Try shutting down other programs on your console or PC to see if this will reduce lag
  • PC limitations: Check that your PC meets the minimum requirements for running MW3. If your graphics card, RAM, or processor isn’t up to speed, you can get a lot of lag
  • Overheating: Try cleaning your PC or console to improve performance problems

Unfortunately, these are not guaranteed fixes. Hopefully developers will announce a fix sometime soon, even a hot fix.
