Fortnite personality Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is one of the most popular and successful streamers in the world. He had the most followers on Twitch and broke multiple records before announcing a move to Mixer last year.

But what does all of that amount to money-wise?

According to Esportspedia, Ninja has an estimated net worth of $10 million.

Ninja’s net worth of $10 million

Only in recent years have people been able to make a living streaming full time. This is something that gamers in the early 2000s probably never thought possible. Something people only dreamed of.

Ninja himself was skeptical of the idea of streaming at first. But he was one of the first Halo players to decide to give streaming a go and ended up making $100 a day streaming the game in 2011.

“A lot of the professional players who play Halo now are starting to stream, but I was one of the first few that started to stream Halo: Reach and that’s usually my main day,” Ninja said at the time. He noted that his day mostly consisted of streaming, practicing with his team, and eating.

Ninja wasn’t sure streaming would be viable and also attended college around that time. He also worked at Noodles & Company. Of course, that didn’t last long.

How do Ninja and other big streamers make a career out of streaming, allowing them to quit their day jobs? During Ninja’s time on Twitch, it was all about getting subscribers.

Before his move to Mixer, Ninja was one of the biggest names on Twitch. He had his own Super Bowl ad, his own book deals, a toy line… People couldn’t get enough of Ninja. So much so, in fact, that people paid to be subscribers, meaning they supported his stream by paying $5, $10, or $25 a month.

In 2018, Ninja was the most subscribed-to streamer, boasting 200,000 subs. Even at the lowest level, this would be $1 million a month before Twitch takes their cut.

Subscribers alone were obviously making Ninja a lot of money. But as mentioned previously, he also has a lot of sponsors and partnerships. He partnered up to make a line of shoes with Adidas that sold out instantly and also works with Red Bull.

He also has a YouTube channel with almost 23 million subscribers, so he’s also getting ad revenue from that site as well.

Ninja’s Mixer deal worth between $20 and $30 million

Despite the high subscriber count, Ninja was openly dissatisfied with his life while streaming on Twitch. Popular streamers were under intense pressure to always be on-camera. Taking any kind of break would see subscribers move on, which Ninja noted on Twitter in 2018 when he stated a two-day break resulted in a loss of 40,000 subscribers

His wife and manager, Jessica Blevins, had even gone on record to say that there were many contract disagreements as well. This is what led Ninja to make a deal with Microsoft’s less-popular streaming site, Mixer.

Even though many fans questioned this move, Ninja reportedly signed a deal worth between $20 million and $30 million. This guaranteed money likely gave Ninja the ability to enjoy life away from his keyboard and relieved the pressure to always be broadcasting.

It’s no surprise that Ninja is worth so much after streaming for the past nine years. Ninja has helped make Fortnite and gaming mainstream, and also paved the way for other big streamers to join him at Mixer and other broadcasting platforms like YouTube and Facebook Gaming.
