Skibidi Toilet film could be the next "Transformers" series

In the 2010s, the world (and millennials specifically) was blessed with several pop culture-fueled films like Angry Bird and The Emoji Movie. Now, Gen Z is getting the same treatment with the announcement of an upcoming motion picture project based on the Skibidi Toilet meme. 

According to reports, Transformers director Michael Bay will be teaming up with former Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman to bring this vision to life.

What is Skibidi Toilet film?

Skibidi Toilet is a series of online videos showing a battle between animated human heads coming out of toilets and cyborgs with an assortment of cameras on their heads. The videos have a certain creepypasta feel to them, and while there is no dialogue, they’ve racked up billions of views since first being uploaded in February 2023. 

Thanks to all this success, Hollywood veterans are looking to adapt it to either a TV series or a movie and are working closely with Alexey Gerasimov, the original Skibidi Toilet creator. Currently, no studio has been confirmed to be attached to the project, so release dates are not known.

But according to Bay and Goodman, this project is “something that could be the next Transformers, or could be Marvel’s universe.” 

While some online are skeptical about an internet meme being turned into a movie or series, others have more faith. Movies and TV shows based on internet lore have been very hit-or-miss, with efforts like The Emoji Movie and even Slenderman being bashed by critics and fans alike.

Along with the views on the creator’s main channel, Skibidi Toilet has also been a massive hit on TikTok, with fans creating their own lore about the universe. There’s even a dedicated Wiki page and an official Skibidi toy being released later this year. 

With this much dedication, a Skibidi Toilet TV show or film could very well appeal to fans and become the success Bay and Goodman are hoping for.
