The new LoL champion Bel’Veth is making her way into the Runeterra as the ultimate threat to all that ever existed. After months of teasers, Bel’Veth has officially been unveiled by Riot Games.Â
The extended champion roster of League of Legends was last updated when Renata Glasc was introduced as a new support. Since then, players have been waiting to steal a look at the highly-anticipated dark creature Bel’Veth. After a string of leaks and teasers, fans can now finally meet the empress of the void, Bel’Veth.Â
Riot Games has dropped the teaser for the upcoming champion, and it’s all sorts of twisted. The 160th champion looks vengeful or like a “dark cancer,” as Riot Games describes her.Â
All That Will Ever Be | Bel’Veth Cinematic – League of Legends
The trailer begins with Kai’Sa strolling through a dark, unknown universe that appears to be void. The quiet terrain is apparently being ruled by Bel’Veth, who first appears in her human form, confirming that her abilities may include shapeshifting. The empress of the void then transforms into a lavender creature with four eyes and a mouth capable of devouring populations, according to her claims.Â
“Fascinated by the world of existence and eager to create one for herself, Bel’Veth is like a dark cancer that has metastasized within the heart of the Void, through which all of Runeterra will be consumed and rebuilt in her own twisted image,” Riot Games says.Â
While Bel’Veth is new to Runeterra, she has all the information she needs to devour it whole. The champion gets her name from port city Belveth, which she previously consumed, along with the residents’ memories. The character aims to claim information and lives and then repurpose them into a sprawling alien landscape known as the Lavender Sea. All in all, Bel’Veth is absolutely terrifying, as fear in Kai’Sa’s eyes confirms.Â
Riot Games hasn’t yet officially revealed Bel’Veth’s kit. But we do know that she’s a void jungler who may have shapeshifting powers. Here are the abilities of Bel’Veth, according to the leaks.Â
With her Q ability, Bel’Veth dashes, deals damage, and slows enemies. Her W takes her into the sea and for a short time, provides move speed and the ability to pass through walls. Using her ultimate, Bel’Veth enters her true form, likely the monster shown in the trailer. Using this power, Bel’Veth gains more HP, MR, and armor. Â
These are all still just reports and rumors. Riot Games is yet to reveal her kit officially.
Bel’Veth arrives in Runeterra in season 12 of League of Legends, which means players should expect the new champion to go live around June 8. No hard date has yet been set however, and it’s always possible that the champion could be delayed for further tuning or bug-fixing.
