Asmongold supports Kick despite its "blood cost" to streamers

Asmongold

World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold is not going to back down when it comes to supporting Kick and its new streamers.

Asmongold has become a massive presence on Twitch thanks to his raw authenticity and skilled MMORPG gameplay, and he isn’t planning to leave the platform any time soon. But he has still been quite vocal about his support for Kick, the controversial Twitch rival that’s been taking all of the biggest names in streaming.

Recently, Asmongold even told new streamers to try out Kick first. He added that he would pick Kick over Twitch if he was a new streamer just starting out now.

While Asmongold has offered high praise for the generous yet often inappropriate new streaming platform, a lot of people in the streaming community have been frustrated with its growing presence in the industry. Andrew Tate wannabe Adin Ross has used Kick to stream pornography and share his misogynistic views with young fans, and the site is becoming well known for gambling streams.

Asmongold continues to support Kick

Some fans were confused about Asmongold’s support of Kick when he has been against gambling in the past. He addressed the controversy on a stream earlier this week.

“Guys, I really hate to tell you this — and there might be people that are unhappy about this — but I am not bound by these rules you create,” Asmongold responded.

He added that he “never makes excuses” for what he does but that he’s not going to argue with anyone while continuing to just do and say whatever he feels like doing.

Asmongold did admit, however, that there is a “blood cost” with switching to Kick. He explained that he’s aware of the controversy with Kick, but it “doesn’t matter” to him. Even when a fan compared Kick to “child sweatshop labor” Asmongold repeated that he didn’t care.

He said: “You can say it 50 times and it’ll be the same answer. I don’t need anybody’s approval to do what I want, so if people don’t like it… Okay, yeah. I just don’t care. Keep in mind, it’s not that I don’t care, it’s that I don’t care enough to have it change what I’m doing.”

Will Asmongold move to Kick?

With Asmongold so quick to defend and commend Kick, some fans are left wondering if he will move to the new platform along with Felix “xQc” Lengyel, Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa, and other big names.

During his most recent stream, a fan commented that Asmongold couldn’t be critical of Kick because it would possibly ruin his chances of getting a contract with the site in the future.

Asmongold said: “Yes, you’re absolutely correct.”

For now, it’s unclear if Asmongold will actually make the switch. And if he does, we don’t know when.
