Asmongold

Asmongold is the most famous World of Warcraft streamer of all time, so he was a bit baffled when Twitch didn’t promote his channel for the release of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight.

Dragonflight is the latest expansion for World of Warcraft, Blizzard‘s iconic MMORPG. Asmongold has been diving deep into World of Warcraft, partaking in a ton of Dragonflight in-game activities on stream and singing its praises. Due to his dedication to Dragonflight, Asmongold’s Twitch streams have seen increased viewership.

But during a broadcast on November 28, Asmongold noticed that Twitch was not promoting his World of Warcraft streams.

Asmongold calls out Twitch after noticing he’s missing from World of Warcraft category

Asmongold had almost 100,000 viewers when he decided to check Twitch’s World of Warcraft category. But to his surprise — and his fans’ — he wasn’t anywhere to be seen.

He was surprised at first and didn’t even believe it. As his fans noted in chat that they also didn’t see him on the page, Asmongold said he’d give Twitch the benefit of the doubt and check on his phone as well. But he still wasn’t showing up.

While Asmongold initially said it was “no big deal,” he seemed frustrated with the situation overall.

“This doesn’t make any f—ing sense. It shows everybody else except me,” Asmongold proclaimed.

A lot of World of Warcraft players started to get frustrated with Twitch, claiming he was “shadowbanned.” But others said that it might just be a bug. Some viewers noted that he was showing up on their end. Still, it was quite an unfortunate bug to happen on the launch of such a big World of Warcraft expansion.

What games does Asmongold play?

For all of his time spent playing World of Warcraft, Asmongold has shown a willingness to look elsewhere for his MMORPG fix. On July 3, 2021, Asmongold started playing Final Fantasy XIV. So far, he has streamed that MMORPG for 161 hours on Twitch. Some credit Asmongold with helping to drive up interest in the game.
