As fans of the wildly successful Hangover franchise eagerly await news of a fourth installment, rumors have been circulating about the possibility of The Hangover 4. The question on everyone’s mind is: will there be another hilarious adventure for the Wolfpack?
The first Hangover movie took the world by storm in 2009, introducing us to the hilarious misadventures of Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug. The film was a massive success, grossing over $467 million worldwide. It was followed by two equally entertaining sequels, The Hangover Part II in 2011 and The Hangover Part III in 2013.
The trilogy became a cultural phenomenon, leaving fans hungry for more.
It’s been almost 10 years since the release of the last Hangover movie, which has led to speculations that a fourth one may not be happening after all.
Hangover 1 was a chart-topping sensation, but the other two movies didn’t perform up to par. While the two installments were successful, they lacked in quality, and critics called out the creators for repeating a washed-out storyline.
Considering the ending of Hangover 3, which was pretty satisfactory, it’s unlikely that the creators would go for a new installment unless they have some exceptionally wild storyline.
One intriguing possibility for The Hangover 4 is that it could take a different approach and be an animated film. This idea opens up endless possibilities for outrageous and surreal adventures for the Wolfpack.
This idea was teased by Hangover cast member Zach Galifianakis who told Extra TV in an interview that an animated version may save the franchise. He wondered if it was made into a “family-friendly Pixar film” then Hangover 4 may come to the silver screen.
He continued that he already wrote a script which he mailed to the other guys, who then sent him “videos of them burning it.”
Zach Galifianakis On Possible ‘Hangover 4’ (Exclusive)
Considering the response, it seems that Galifianakis is likely joking, but it’s not an entirely terrible idea. Animation allows for more creative freedom and can bring the characters to life in ways that live-action may not be able to achieve. It could also attract a wider audience, including younger viewers who may not have been old enough to watch the previous movies.
However, this remains mere speculation at this point, and fans will have to wait for official announcements to know the direction the franchise will take.
Despite no official confirmation, rumors about The Hangover 4 have been swirling in the entertainment industry. One of the most exciting rumors is the potential return of the original cast members — Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis. These three actors played the iconic roles of Phil, Stu, and Alan, respectively, and their chemistry was a significant factor in the franchise’s success.
The Hangover 4 release date is in limbo due to uncertainty around it. Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper both have shut down the idea of a fourth installment in the past, so it’s unlikely there’ll be a fourth movie.
However, it’s worth noting that the previous three movies were all released during the summer months, taking advantage of the blockbuster season. Therefore, it wouldn’t be surprising if The Hangover 4 also follows suit and aims for a summer release.
