The esports community has not stopped talking about Stranger Things actress Grace Van Dien joining FaZe Clan amidst the organization’s ongoing financial woes and creator drama. It all came to a head when Håvard “FaZe Rain” Nygaard decided to confront the actress in person.

FaZe Rain has been very vocal about his disdain for FaZe Clan especially after the organization signed Van Dien. He not only leaked her announcement early but started hurling personal insults at the actress turned influencer, calling her out for being “mid” and not knowing enough about video games.

In response, Van Dien lashed out at FaZe Rain by bringing up his previous drug addiction and accusing him of “almost overdosing on live stream.” She did add at the end that she was proud of him, but FaZe Rain still reacted harshly to the taunting.

The drama escalated to the point where Rain announced on Instagram a few days ago that he was going to meet with Van Dien for a recorded conversation. Unfortunately, the meet-up didn’t turn out as planned — far from it.

During the conversation, Rain criticized Van Dien for caring what others think, demanding to know if she’s a “confident woman” or not. He said that she shouldn’t care if he calls her “mid.” But as the conversation went on, he could tell that Van Dien was not enjoying the discussion.

“Are you getting emotional?” he taunted.

“Yeah. I don’t like you,” she replied.

In response, Rain said he was simply being “logical” but she called him a “terrible person.” Van Dien also claimed that she would leave FaZe Clan if Rain released the video of their conversation.

The ongoing argument between FaZe Rain and Van Dien caused a huge rift in the streaming community, with fans emphatically taking sides. FaZe Clan even seemed to take a side, supporting Van Dien on Twitter.

“FaZe is no stranger to contrasting viewpoints and passionate opinions on the future of the brand,” the tweet read. “Recruitment has always drawn that out. But make no mistake, the mistreatment of our newest member is in no way OK. Grace joined in hopes to bring her voice to FaZe and we stand by her.”

This caused further separation between Rain’s fans and Van Dien’s supporters, with many questioning why FaZe Clan was okay with the actress talking about Rain’s drug use. In response, Rain himself told the org to “shut your dumb ass up,” successfully ratio’ing them.

FaZe Clan co-founder Ricky Banks added: “You guys have lost the f—ing plot.”

As the harassment and backlash continued, Van Dien decided to make her Twitter account private. She has yet to make any public statement regarding her future at FaZe Clan.
