Grace Van Dien, who goes by bluefille on Twitch, is an American actress and streamer. Van Dien was born in 1996 in Los Angeles, California, and is the daughter of actors Casper Van Dien and Carrie Mitchum.
Van Dien started her career in 2010 with a minor role in the movie for television The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation. She consistently continued to work until her big break in 2022 when Van Dien joined the Stranger Things cast. In the Netflix hit show, Van Dien played Chrissy Cunningham, a cheerleader who is the first victim in season four.
Why did Grace Van Dien leave acting?
Back in March, Van Dien shared that she would be taking a step back from acting and focusing on her career as a streamer. According to the actress, she was propositioned by members of the production team in her latest projects. After that experience, Van Dien decided to focus more on streaming and content creation.
“As I get older, my work priorities are changing. I’m waiting for the right project/the right people to work with. It’s nice to feel calm,” she said.
On May 25, FaZe Clan announced the signing of Van Dien. The signing sparked a controversy involving FaZe Rain.
Grace Van Dien and FaZe Rain controversy explained
Prior to Van Dien’s signing, FaZe Rain leaked that she would be joining the organization. In the following days, FaZe Rain went on several rants where he called out the new FaZe ownership and the current members and labeled the latest signings as fake. FaZe Rain also leaked the monthly esports costs for the organization and called out CEO Lee Trink.
When Van Dien’s signing became official, FaZe Rain made some questionable comments about the actress, calling her “excruciatingly mid, who I would never let touch me on my drunkest night.”
In the days after, Van Dien retaliated, bringing up FaZe Rain’s struggles with drug addiction.
“He says I don’t even know what a trickshot is, you’re right, I don’t. And I know that’s kind of what you’re known for. But I know you, Rain, as the person who almost overdosed on a livestream, and I know that you are better now, and I’m really proud of you for that,” Grace said in a video.
The comment wasn’t well received by the community, who criticized Grace for taking things too far. However, some streamers backed up Grace for retaliating to Rain’s personal comments on her appearance. Through Twitter, FaZe Rain shared a picture with Van Dien. According to FaZe Rain, they are shooting a video together.
