While Felix “xQc” Lengyel may have a wonky personal life, his cash is up right now thanks to Counter-Strike 2.
Counter-Strike 2 has been out for a solid hour and xQc has already unboxed skins worth thousands on the market. After months and months of hints, CS2 finally launched and the FPS community has jumped on the bandwagon, including xQc. The stream decision has paid off big time.
Counter-Strike is known for its intense mechanical gameplay as well as its incredibly lucrative skin market. Gamers amass collections worth millions from opening cases as well as purchasing rare skins from other accounts.
To nobody’s surprise, xQc decided to open cases when he started playing Counter-Strike 2. He spent over $10,000 but the bet definitely paid some dividens.
Forty minutes into opening cases, xQc opened a Phase 4 Doppler Karambit that’s worth around $1,500 on the Counter-Strike skin marketplace. This is definitely a W for xQc, but it’s nothing compared to how much Valve has made from case openings.
In under an hour, Counter-Strike 2 has reportedly earned Valve over $40 million from case openings. The hype is real and it’s not slowing down any time soon.
