Marc “Caedrel” Lamont has announced that despite previously saying he would continue casting in the LEC in 2022, it doesn’t appear to be the case any longer. Caedrel has now implied that he wouldn’t be returning to the LEC broadcast in 2022.
Following the conclusion of the 2021 World Championship, rumors began to circulate around a new roster being built by Vitality in the LEC. One of the rumors that quickly gained traction was that Caedrel was being tapped to coach the superstar lineup that was rumored to include players like Barney “Alphari” Morris and Luka “Perkz” Perkovic.
Caedrel had initially responded to these rumors with a statement of his intent to continue his journey as an analyst. According to tweets published yesterday, that’s no longer the case. Whether it’s the rumored coaching position at Vitality or other opportunities, Caedrel’s plans for 2022 have clearly changed.
With this post being followed by a meme referencing his impending departure and plenty of surprise by fellow casters and hosts, it seems Caedrel’s path is set. Caedrel’s first year as a regular analyst and caster was successful, with fans and professionals alike praising his ability to break down high-level concepts while still being entertaining.
It seems likely that Caedrel has accepted the opportunity to coach Vitality’s new roster given responses from the LEC head and Vitality’s owner all suggesting Caedrel has joined the hottest European new team. Caedrel’s rise to prominence as a voice of the professional League of Legends scene has clearly led to more respect of the game’s professional players and organizations, creating for him this new opportunity.
