What is Unreal Editor for Fortnite

Unreal Editor for Fortnite, or Creative 2.0, is a modified version of Unreal Engine that fans can use to create custom experiences specifically for Fortnite, using all the power of Unreal Engine 5. This new program was announced by Epic Games at the State of Unreal live stream. In trailers showing off the massive customization and creative capabilities, Epic Games showed just how much UEFN is capable of.

From animating models to create custom environments, this program is available completely for free to any Fortnite player who wants it. It harnesses all of Unreal Engine 5’s power to massively increase the power that fans have to modify Epic Games’ flagship battle royale.

Epic Games lists a long variety of things that fans can do with UEFN in order to create amazing custom games. From modeling and material tools, using Niagara to create visual effects, animating via Control Rig, and designing Gameplay with Verse, UEFN does it all. It’s hard to overstate the possibilities that this opens up for Fortnite’s future, with fans able to create all sorts of custom experiences. In fact, some are already recreating the original Fortnite Battle Royale map for fans to play on.
