DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Book 3 has been confirmed, and the new season is coming out much sooner than expected.

While the first season of the animated series based on Dota 2 was in development for years, the following season had a much quicker turnaround. DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Book 3 is continuing that with the new season coming out just eight months after the second one.

The release date for the third season of DOTA: Dragon’s Blood was confirmed on the final day of Netflix Geeked Week. No trailer was revealed, but a compilation of images teased fans with what might be coming.

When is DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Book 3 coming out?

DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Book 3, the third season of the show, is coming out on August 11, 2022.

This marks a shockingly quick production cycle for the show. The second season of DOTA: Dragon’s Blood came out January 18, 222 meaning this new season is arriving less than seven months after season two launched. Book 2’s release was pushed back for some time so it’s possible the series has been in development for longer.

Regardless, fans won’t have to wait to find out what happens to Davion and Mirana. Season two wrapped up with a series of cliffhangers that should have fans excited for what may be the final chapter of the series.

Warning- Spoilers ahead for DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Book 2

What will happen in DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Season 3?

DOTA: Dragon’s Blood season 3 will likely see Davion and Slyrak face off against Terrorblade for a climatic final battle. Though it isn’t confirmed this will be the final season, executive producer and writer Ashley Edward Miller indicated that the story would play out across three seasons.

Season two closed with the death of Marci alongside Auroth and Lina in a battle against a disguised void dragon. This results in Mirana awakening dragon powers within herself and the reveal that she is actually the Worldwurm, essentially the sun goddess.

Meanwhile, Invoker arranged for the deaths of most of the Eldwurms and captured their souls. Though he was originally set to trade their souls to Terrorblade, he finds himself at odds with the demon as he focuses on turning Fymryn into the new moon goddess. Unfortunately for Invoker, Fymryn escaped his tower and may ally herself with a newly empowered moon goddess Selemene.

Terrorblade finds himself at odds with both Davion as he seeks to steal Slyrak’s soul and Invoker as he looks for the power to control all of nature. Everyone has a grand plan to essentially rewrite nature itself, but only one will see their idea realized.
