Vikin.gg, Elephant break into top 10 Dota 2 team rankings
Vikin.gg, Elephant break into top 10 Dota 2 team rankings
Dota 2’s grind continued on with Realms Collide in the west, the China Pro Cup in the east, and EPIC League between. Those events have made for some major shifts over the last two weeks, with top teams slipping and newcomers reaching the top 10. Here’s the top 10 Dota 2 teams:

Catch up on the Dota 2 team rankings:
Quincy Crew loses elite status in Realms Collide
Quincy Crew has long sat just below Team Secret on the rankings thanks to complete dominance in all events in the western hemisphere. The team still looked good in Realms Collide, but a third-place finish in the group stage precipitated a drop from second place to seventh.
PSG.LGD, Vici Gaming, and a number of European favorites stepped over Quincy Crew. Though that’s technically a massive drop, the top 10 is incredibly competitive past Team Secret. Quincy Crew could easily climb back to the No. 2 spot, but could also slip even further down with a poor performance in the playoffs.
Elephant stomps into top 10 with China Pro Cup 2 win
The Elephant Dota 2 team has been a constant source of drama, but has looked very strong in-game throug most of those mishaps. Mixed results in its first two events were enough to put the all-star team in the top 20, but a first-place finish in China Pro Cup Season 2 was enough to have Elephant break into the top 10.
The run in the China Pro Cup was a strong one, as Elephant went 11-7 in the group stage but was dealt a playoffs loss to Team Aster. An extended lower bracket run followed, but the eventual first-place finish that concluded with a win over Aster undid any earlier damage.
With the Chinese scene officially shaking off the inactivity decay that came with its break in September, the region is enjoying a lot more representation in the rankings. In addition to having three teams in the top 10 this week, Team Aster could be poised to jump in as well with another big performance.
Vikin.gg explodes in EPIC League
Vikin.gg has quietly been one of the best Dota 2 teams in the world throughout 2020, but they’re not being all that quiet about it right now. As of this writing, the team is sitting atop the EPIC League group stage with a 6-1 record. It has a 12-6 record on maps and even posted a 2-0 win over Team Secret.
Whether Vikin.gg has really cemented itself as a top Dota 2 team is the big question. Europe is a very competitive region and Secret is the only team that has consistently posted strong placements. Holding a top-10 spot will be difficult, but Vikin.gg’s spot here is well deserved.
