Valorant downtime explained: How long is Valorant maintenance?
Riot Games is preparing for the future of Valorant, and for that, the competitive needs to go offline for some time. But how long is Valorant maintenance? Here’s what we know about Valorant downtime.
Before each act, Riot disables competitive queues to reset ranks. Besides this reason, Valorant competitive queues rarely go down, but this time, Riot is most likely cooking something as the game’s most cut-throat game goes offline for the “future of Valorant.” Act 2 is still a month away but players will have to be a little patient to enjoy patch 9.02 updates.
On July 30, Riot announced patch 9.02, which punishes toxic players, revealing that the game’s competitive will stay offline for players across all platforms.

When will Valorant be back up?
Valorant downtime will start on July 30, and competitive mode will be disabled for one hour. That means if it went offline at 6 AM PT, it would work per normal at 7 AM PT for PC players only.
Console players will have to be more patient. The competitive mode will remain down for three days for players on PlayStation and Xbox. Here’s precisely how long Valorant maintenance will be for each platform.
Platform | Start time | End time |
PC | July 30 – 6 AM PT/9 AM ET | July 30 – 7 AM PT/10 AM ET |
Xbox | July 30 – 6AM PT/9 AM PT | Aug 2 – 9 AM PT/12 PM ET |
PlayStation | July 30 – 6 AM PT/9 AM PT | Aug 2 – 9 AM PT/12 PM ET |
The downtime is likely due to the rank reset coming to the console on July 30. Players on PC should have the same rank when they log back in, but those on Xbox and PlayStation will have to restart their grind to gain a rank badge. Besides this, patch 9.02 will introduce the new basic training to Valorant.
Console players don’t have to stay away from their keyboards for all three days. Modes other than competitive will be available to play.
