A recent tweet caused so much drama for 100 Thieves co-owner and content creator Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter that she was brought to crying during a recent live stream.

Earlier this week, Valkyrae saw a tweet from a Thomas “Sykkuno” fan that said they didn’t want to see Valkyrae’s ex-boyfriend, Sonii, on stream again. Valkyrae responded that she was “canceling the stream.”

According to Valkyrae, the opinion had hurt her so she responded, forgetting how many people would see the response. The fan she was responding to, who turned out to be a minor, was attacked relentlessly by Valkyrae’s giant fanbase. This included death threats and the sending of disturbing images.

When Valkyrae woke up the next day and saw the attacks, she demanded that her fans stop harassing the young fan. She tweeted that nobody should ever harass or send death threats for sharing their opinion, especially on her behalf. Valkyrae admitted that she feels responsible for the fan getting attacked.

Valkyrae speaks on Twitter drama, breaks down in tears

During a YouTube stream, Valkyrae broke out in tears while discussing the drama that ensued over on Twitter. Rae said that she had “made a very big mistake” by forgetting that everyone would see her reply and could potentially act on it.

Valkyrae revealed that she had reached out to the fan to discuss the situation. She apologized for the attacks that had been aimed at her.

“They were really glad I reached out and apologized. I didn’t mean for anything to happen,” Valkyrae said.

Valkyrae said that she has made a lot of mistakes. Sometimes, she added, she doesn’t learn from them the first time. She said she was being “stupid” by replying to the Twitter user and that she hoped she would remember this lesson going forward.

Throughout the conversation, Valkyrae continued to wipe tears from her eyes. Her fans asked if she was okay. At one point, Valkyrae said she was just “a big baby” and “felt really bad” about the situation. Some fans told Valkyrae that she “didn’t do anything wrong,” but Valkyrae wouldn’t agree. She appreciated the support, but said she was at fault.

“All of this could have been avoided if I hadn’t said anything,” Valkyrae said.

To Valkyrae, it seemed as though her fans had put her on a pedestal because of her status as a top YouTuber. But she said she’s human just like everyone else.

“We are equal,” Valkyrae said.
