WarnerBros’ recent Hogwarts Legacy teaser has all Potterheads on their toes. Could Tom Felton, AKA Draco Malfoy, be returning to Hogwarts?
When Hogwarts Legacy was announced, everyone had the same question: Will the original Harry Potter characters return? Unfortunately, the story was all about the events that took place a full century before Harry got his Hogwarts letter. Still, players loved Hogwarts Legacy, buying 15 million copies of the magical game.
Now, WarnerBros is keeping the spirits alive with new events, and the latest one is in a league of its own.
WarnerBros has confirmed that Tom Felton will be coming back to Hogwarts, but his exact role is still unknown. In a TikTok video, the company teased the thrilling announcement featuring the Slytherin poster boy himself.
Tom Felton is playing Hogwarts Legacy on May 9th
The video opens with Hogwarts Legacy’s Slytherin grey character Sebastian Sallow with the standard introduction to a dark silhouette. The music picks up to a Tom Felton responding with a “Hello, Sebastian.” The teaser itself was enough to rock the Harry Potter community in gaming, who were always eager to see familiar faces in their favorite games.
On May 9th at 9 am PT, players can find out precisely the role of Tom Felton in the Hogwarts Legacy. However, this was all Warner Bros shared. So, now players are speculating how Tom Felton would fit into the story that took place in the 1860s. He’ll likely be a part of Sebastian Sallow’s walkthrough as a new student.
But for now, nothing is set in stone besides Tem Felton returning to Hogwarts.
Tom has previously expressed the wish to play Lucius Malfoy, but in Hogwarts Legacy, the cunning father doesn’t exist either. Who knows, fans may see the popular Harry Potter actor in the decade-long TV show that is currently under production.
In an interview with Variety, Warner Bros Games president David Haddad shared that Warner Bros is looking at “Hogwarts Legacy” as a long-term franchise. This vision means not only more video games but also the TV adaptation that is rumored to be currently in development.
